Favorite Summer Spot | Mary’s Fishcamp

Whole Grilled Sea Bass, Mary's Fishcamp

Mary’s Fish Camp is a New England style fish shack located on a gorgeous corner in the West Village. This tiny spot does not take reservations and there is almost always a wait. No one really seems to mind, however, because you can have a beer or a glass of wine out on the street as you wait and take in the beauty of this particularly beautiful and peaceful corner of the West Village. The vibe is upbeat and the fish so fresh it basically swims onto your plate. During the summer, I seem to dine here at least once a week and for good reason, because the seafood and atmosphere are hard to beat!

Mary’s is tiny and you will probably always wait but waiting is never bad when you can have a beer or glass of wine out front and take in the West Village.

This is seriously one of the happiest spots year round to come to – I love the vibe here but in the summer it’s just so special.

The Restaurant is small. I love sitting at the bar or at a Table – really you take what you can get but there is no bad seat here.

Mary’s is routinely voted Best Lobster Roll in the city and has many admirers and I will admit it is delicious, but for me there is nothing better than their whole grilled fish of the day!

West Village

After dinner, nothing beats a stroll around the West Village and there are tons of great spots to grab an after dinner drink.
