I love the Upper East Side – I lived there for my first three years in New York and it still feels a little bit like home. New York can be hectic and crazy but the UES seems to have a more relaxed pace. I love walking up Madison Avenue window shopping and all the side streets with the beautiful townhouses. My ideal Upper East Side walk starts at 60th and Madison (Barney’s) and continues up Madison till you reach about 91st street.  Bel Ami Cafe at 68th and Madison is a great spot to stop in for a coffee. It is incredibly charming and french and when the weather is nice they have a lovely bench to sit on outside. One of my favorite lunch spots is Via Quadronno  at 73rd street – can be busy at lunch but you never wait too long and its totally worth the wait! It is too cold this time of year to be outside, so I highly advise getting lost in the MET. I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon.
