Happy New Year! I don’t know about you, but it feels good to be back in a normal routine after the Holiday Season. I am not one for New Years resolutions, I am more a believer in making good sustainable changes that could be carried out all year long. This year, however, I have decided to hit the reset button. I am participating in Drynuary (day 6), going carb free and amping up the workouts. 2015 is a big year and I have a lot to look forward to and want to take January to really get feeling in tip top shape. This year I have a special project happening in January, a week in St. Barths, and I am getting married! It is going to be a huge year and I am excited and want to spend this one month to relax and get ready for all that is in store.
I try to practice yoga at least three times a week. I love what yoga does for me both mentally and physically. You could say I am a bit of a hot yoga junkie! I think it is a fantastic and hard workout, but more importantly I like the stress relief and centering it provides. Over time you get better at poses you focus on and your really see improvement, which is such a fantastic experience. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw the video of my handstand I posted on Saturday. I have been working towards a handstand for a long time and bit by bit I am getting better and feeling more comfortable upside down.
I swear by my Jade Yoga Mat, for my hot yoga practice. I have tried lots of mats and this is by far my favorite. Love adding Ultima to my water to help me keep me going during a long hot practice. My favorite is to mix a pack of the lemonade and the raspberry, so delicious! The Best Yoga Pants love the lightweight breathable fabric, perfect for a hot sweaty yoga practice, and love the way they fit! Carbon38 has the coolest funkiest yoga pants and I can’t get enough of them! Underarmour and Saks also have some great yoga clothing on their site. I love my mat towel from Manduka, but apparently Yoga Rat has the highest rated mat towels around.
