While in Amsterdam, we were offered fresh mint tea after dinner one night and I have never been the same since. I have long suffered from indigestion, acid stomach, and heartburn and let me tell you it is an awful affliction that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. As a food lover, I find it especially unfair. I have to avoid rich and acidic foods (not cool) and I am always carrying Tums and Prilosec. Sorry, I know this isn’t the most glamorous of topics, but bear with me. I have found drinking mint tea after meals to be a godsend for indigestion (or simply digestion) it calms and settles your stomach almost instantly. Not to mention it is incredibly delicious, smells lovely and is one of the happiest things to drink. Added bonus is that it is so simple to make – a bunch of fresh Mint (stems and all), add boiling water, let steep (at least five minutes) and then enjoy. Even if you don’t have stomach issues, I promise you will enjoy the tea and everyone will benefit from the medicinal properties of mint.
