Over the Weekend
My Friday started a little early with some rosé on the roof! I headed up with the idea of reading, but as soon as I posted an Instagram of my activities a few friends came over to hangout. I currently can not get enough Rainer Cherries – they are the best snack!
The unplanned roof get together all worked out perfectly, because I had cooked a ton of food. Tyler Florence’s Oven Roasted Pulled Pork is a recipe I have been using for years! This crowd pleasing and easy recipe is perfect for big groups and people who love leftovers. I made the spice blend on Thursday night and rubbed it all over the pork and popped it in the oven Friday Morning. I had a little over 7 pounds of pork slowly roasting in the oven for just James and myself so I was thrilled to have more mouths to feed. This was an insanely easy dinner and I served it with some heirloom tomatoes, avocado, and mozzarella. We ate a lot and drank a lot and had a very competitive game of Trivial Pursuit. {Perfect Summer Friday}
Saturday, involved a slight recovery from Friday’s festivities. James and I walked 12 miles around the island of NYC. We got to cheer on some people finishing the Manhattan Island Swim {28.5miles} – so impressive, incredible & inspiring. After our long walk, we decided to have a low key and early dinner at Nobu Tribeca. {Yellowtail Jalapeño dish is not to be missed}
Sunday was a gorgeous and exciting day in the city. James and I caught up with some friends for brunch at Monument Lane which was delicious! We walked Bella around the hood and checked out the Pride Parade before enjoying a few celebratory pride drinks. I hope y’all had a weekend as lovely as mine!
