palazzo avino | greeted with champagne and an amazing view

After a full day of traveling, a red eye to Rome, train to Naples and car to Ravello, we arrived in Paradise. The town of Ravello sits high above the Amalfi Coast and is charming and relaxing, the perfect start to our honeymoon or any vacation. Guests at Palazzo Avino get the views and also access to their incredible private beach club, so that you get the best of both worlds. We have some amazing friends, who called ahead and had a bottle of Champagne waiting in our room when we arrived!

If you can’t tell yet, you will be able to by the end of my honeymoon posts, I took an insane amount of photos. The places, hotels, and restaurants were beautiful and had to be captured, but my favorite spots I wanted to document for others to learn about and see. I based so much of our trip on reviews and pictures from other bloggers, so I had to share the love. Sadly though, the one thing I failed to capture was the interior of Palazzo Avino, which is a shame because it was breathtaking and all the fabric was Hermes – swoon. Here is a tiny glimpse of the sofa, in the above photo. James and I loved to play chess inside on the beautiful Hermes covered sofa’s at night with a glass of wine.

Palazzo Avino has a private beach club, called The Clubhouse by the Sea, which is heaven! The hotel has a shuttle that will take you down to the beach club, which takes about fifteen minutes. When you arrive at the beach club you are greeted by the nicest staff, carrying a lovely scented cool towel. You can pick from an array of bathing chairs and relax for the rest of the day! After a morning of reading and playing in the ocean, we had worked up a big appetite and we headed up to the restaurant at the Clubhouse (if you want you are able to get lunch at your chairs too).

We stayed at Palazzo Avino for three nights and every evening we began cocktail hour at their Martini & Lobster Bar. They have the most incredible martini list I have ever seen, I think that is saying something. James was good about trying all the options, while I got stuck on their amazing bellinis.

{Beautiful Ravello Italy}

We had three incredible dinners in Ravello – our favorite fancy meal was at Rossellini’s  at Palazzo Avino and for casual we loved the family run Cumpa’ Cosimo. The view at Villa Maria was stunning as well.

For our second day in Ravello, we had arranged for a private boat for the day to take us around the Amalfi Coast. The hotel arranged everything for us, they sent me a list of boats with pictures, all I had to do was pick the one we wanted and they did the rest. This was one of the highlights of the entire trip. Our boat spent the morning taking us around to a few swimming spots, showing us the coast of Amalfi, a tour around the island of Capri, and then to the most amazing spot for lunch. Seriously, one of our best meals of the trip (more on that later!). We then did a little more swimming in some caves and slowly drove along the coast back to Amalfi, where the hotel had a car waiting for us. Our time in Ravello was incredibly relaxing and went by way to fast! The town of Ravello itself is so charming we enjoyed going to Villa Cimbrone, Villa Rufolo and shopping around the town. Ravello is like a charming medieval village and a lot less crowded and touristy than Positano. What really stuck me was that many of the guests have been coming to Palazzo Avino for years, which speaks to the incredible service and staff at the hotel. The views are incredible and Palazzo Avino is truly five star experience and a little slice of heaven!
